Fig. 6. Anti-HMGB1 antibody treatment diminishes hemorrhage-induced elevations in pulmonary proinflammatory cytokines. One hour after the induction of hemorrhage, mice were injected with either control chicken IgY (Hem+Cont Ab, 200 µg/mice) or polyclonal chicken IgY anti-HMGB1 antibody (Hem+Anti-HMGB1, 200 µg/mice). Levels of KC, IL-6, and IL-1
were then measured in lung homogenates obtained in control, unmanipulated animals, and mice were injected with polyclonal chicken IgY anti-HMGB1 without hemorrhage (Anti-HMGB1) and 4 h after hemorrhage in the control (Hem+Cont Ab) and anti-HMGB1 (Hem+Anti-HMGB1) antibody-treated mice. Each experimental group consisted of 5 mice. The data shown are representative of 3 independent experiments. Values are presented as means ± SE. *P < 0.05 vs. control and anti-HMGB1;
P < 0.05 vs. Hem+Cont Ab.
