Corrigendum

Volume 290, February 2006

Volume 34, February 2006

Pages L242–L249: Fang X, Song Y, Hirsch J, Galietta LJV, Pedemonte N, Zemans RL, Dolganov G, Verkman AS, and Matthay MA: "Contribution of CFTR to apical-basolateral fluid transport in cultured human alveolar epithelial type II cells" (http://ajplung.physiology.org/cgi/content/full/290/2/L242). On page L244, Fig. 2, top, mistakenly shows images used from part of this group's previous study in rat type II cells (http://ajplung.physiology.org/cgi/content/full/287/1/L104). The correct figure follows, and the images at top are from human alveolar type II cells. Bottom of Fig. 2 is the same as original published version showing the ultrastructure of the human alveolar type II cells.

Fig. 2. Human AT II cells grown on collagen I-coated Transwell membrane 120 h after seeding. Top, left: phase contrast of human AT II cell monolayer. Top, right: human AT II cell monolayer stained with Lysotrack green DND-26 (150 nmol/l, 30 min; Molecular Probes), a fluorescent dye to selectively stain lamellar bodies in primary culture of AT II cells. Bottom: electron microscopy of side view of human AT II cells grown on Transwell membranes. Cells are cuboidal in shape with lamellar bodies and microvilli. Bar = 2 µm.
