Lung inflammatory processes involve considerable convergence of both epithelial and endothelial signaling pathways. Significant progress has been made in understanding the role of factors such as ROS/NO, connexins, TRPV4, TLR-4 and CFTR in regulating lung inflammatory and injury processes.
