Cover: Proteasome inhibition decreases nuclear thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) levels as assessed by immunofluorescence staining. H441 lung epithelial cells were treated with the proteasome inhibitor lactacystin (10 μM) for 24 h and then processed for immunofluorescence microscopy with TTF-1 antibody followed by rhodamine red-conjugated secondary antibody. Nuclei were stained with SYTOX green. This is a composite image of TTF-1 and SYTOX green staining. It can be seen that lactacystin treatment significantly reduced nuclear TTF-1 levels (indicated by the residual yellow stain) compared with control cells (Fig. 10).
